MP4, WebM, OGG, MOV and MKV containers. But the codec inside has to be one your browser can decode on its own, because the page uses the browser's video decoder instead of shipping one. If it cannot, you get a clear error rather than a broken GIF. One video at a time, up to roughly 48 MB depending on your device's memory.
How much of the video can I convert?
150 frames and 960 px are each real ceilings, but not at the same time. The tool weighs frame count against pixel size and your device's memory. A small size like 480×360 usually reaches the full 150 frames, about 15 seconds; pushed toward 960 px on the longest side, expect only a few dozen frames (a few seconds) and fewer still on low-memory devices. When your settings don't fit, “Compile Animated GIF” stays disabled with a warning instead of failing partway through.
