How it works

Drop an existing SVG file. It is already vector, so no tracing is needed.
Curves stay curves: Béziers are exported as DXF SPLINE entities, circular arcs ride the polyline bulge, and circles become true CIRCLE entities.
Set Units to Millimeters if your SVG declares no physical size, then download the DXF and open it in LightBurn, AutoCAD, or Fusion.

Good to know

DXF is a geometry format: SVG fills, gradients, and text are not carried over. Convert text to paths in your SVG first.
DXF has no elliptical-arc primitive here, so a squashed or skewed ellipse is written as its cubic equivalent (a SPLINE). Circular arcs, circles, and Béziers carry over as real curve geometry.
If the SVG declares no width in real units, the DXF is written unitless and CAD will guess the scale. Set the width in millimeters before you download.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to trace anything?

No. An SVG is already vector, so this is a direct geometry conversion, not a bitmap trace. Lines, polygons, circles, and arcs carry over exactly, and Bézier curves are exported as DXF SPLINE entities with the same control points, not flattened into chords.

Will my laser software read the DXF?

Yes. The output is standard DXF that LightBurn, LaserGRBL's importers, AutoCAD, and Fusion 360 all accept.

Does the SVG get uploaded?

No, the conversion is done locally in your browser.
