How it works
- Drop the original PDF on the left and the modified version on the right.
- Run the comparison: text is extracted page by page and diffed word by word.
- Review per-page cards: additions highlighted in green, deletions struck through in red, with +/− counts per page and a total summary.
- Swap the two files with one click if you loaded them in the wrong order.
What people use it for
- Checking what actually changed between two contract versions before signing.
- Verifying an edited report against the approved original.
- Auditing revisions when the sender didn't provide a change log.
Good to know
- The diff is text-level: wording changes are caught precisely, but layout shifts, image changes, and formatting-only edits are not flagged.
- Pages are compared by position (page 3 vs page 3); an inserted page shifts later comparisons and shows as heavy add/remove around the insertion.
- Extremely dense pages fall back to line-level diffing past 20,000 tokens to stay fast.
Frequently asked questions
Can it compare scanned PDFs?
Only if they contain a text layer. Run both files through PDF OCR first, then compare the searchable versions.
Will it show moved paragraphs as moves?
A moved block appears as a deletion in its old place and an addition in the new one — the tool does not track movement as a separate change type.
Are both documents kept private?
Yes. Extraction and diffing run in your browser; neither version is uploaded — which is exactly what you want when comparing unsigned contract drafts.
